ROBERT WALLER JR. - Of Counsel
Born in Rhode Island, Robert's family moved to San Diego in December 1969. A life-long San Diegan since, Robert graduated from San Diego State University (SDSU) in 1989 with a Bachelor of Science degree in Criminal Justice Administration. Robert attended law school at the San Diego campus of Western State University (now Thomas Jefferson School of Law) graduating in 1993.
After being sworn into the California Bar in December 1993, Robert started his own law office in the Gaslamp Quarter of downtown San Diego. In 2002, Robert moved his office to Encinitas, California, in north San Diego County, to be closer to his family. In 2023, Robert joined Centurion Trial Attorneys to help oversee the firm's litigation practice.
Over his 30 years practicing law, Robert has tried to verdict a wide variety of civil cases in both state and federal courts (as well as private arbitration), including personal injury actions (automobile crashes, trip and fall, premises and public entity liability), employment discrimination/wrongful termination, sexual harassment, medical malpractice, legal malpractice, and business disputes. With his breadth of experience, Robert approaches every case from its inception with an eye towards trial and what it will take to win the case before a jury.
Robert is licensed to practice before all courts in the State of California, and is admitted to practice before the Supreme Court of the United States, the Court of Appeals for the Ninth Circuit, the U.S. District Courts for the Northern, Central, Eastern and Southern districts of California, the U.S. District Court for the District of Columbia (DC), the Eastern District of Michigan, District Court of Colorado, District Court of Nevada, and the District Court of Utah. Robert handles cases throughout the United States by associating with local attorneys.
In addition to an active law practice, Robert is an Adjunct Professor at California Western School of Law where he teaches Advanced Negotiation and ADR (Alternative Dispute Resolution). Robert also serves on the Thomas Jefferson School of Law Board of Trustees, is a former member of the Board of Directors of Consumer Attorneys of San Diego, and serves of counsel for the non-profit organization Angel Faces (www.angelfaces.com).
In his spare time, Robert enjoys playing golf, biking, boating, waterskiing and all water sports, camping, gardening, reading non-fiction and biographies, and spending time with his wife, daughter, and female Greater Swiss Mountain dog Harley.
